AEMP Telematics

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> System -> Company & Divisions -> Company Parameters -> Software Integration -> AEMP Telematics

AEMP Telematics (Association of Equipment Management Professionals) is an industry standard for retrieving equipment information.
Equipment tracking applications can be integrated with SRM to return information on non-bulk equipment by barcode when it is equipped with the associated AEMP tracking device.
The import of this data back into SRM can be run manually from Import AEMP Telematics or can be setup to be run by the Automatic Job Scheduling by the job AEMP01A.

Telematic Providers:
SRM can be integrated to manage multiple Telematic Vendors.
The prompts to activate an AEMP provider are:
SEQ
The sequence number is used by the system to track the records in the table.

CODE and DESCRIPTION
These Code and Description fields are hard coded and supplied by SRM to include the following current providers:
  • CEL - Cellutrak:
The Cellutrak (VehList) Telematics imports the GPS location and also meter values, when the "Engine Hours" in the xml data converted to actual hours is greater than the current meter units, and it only imports the values for provided date/time once.
All dates/times are in UTC format.
(hhhhh:mm... For example, 10:15 would be a reading of 10.25)

The Cellutrak 'Plate' number must be assigned as the Telematic ID in the Rental Information window for relevant non-bulk rental products that are equipped with the Cellutrak tracking device.

The AEMP Telematics configuration and credentials can be setup for Cellutrak as follows:

    o USERNAME:
    o PASSWORD:
    o URL: (ie. https://iweb2.ituranusa.com/ituranwebservice3/Service3.asmx)
    o EMAIL STATUS TO:
o MATCH TO ASSET SERIAL #: this feature is not available for Cellutrak and the checkbox is disabled
  • SAM - Samsara:
The Samsara Telematics imports the GEO Location of Longitude & Latitude and the Meter reading in actual hours of the relevant equipment back to SRM.

The Samsara 'EquipmentID' must be assigned as the Telematic ID in the Rental Information window for relevant non-bulk rental products that are equipped with the SAM tracking device.

The AEMP Telematics configuration and credentials can be setup for SAM in the following fields:

o USERNAME: API Token (this value is not editable)
o PASSWORD: (enter your unique token provided by Samsara)
    o URL: (ie. https://api.samsara.com/beta/aemp/Fleet/)
    o EMAIL STATUS TO:
o MATCH TO ASSET SERIAL #: this feature is not available for Samsara and the checkbox is disabled
  • TRI - Trackunit IRIS API:
The Trackunit IRIS API Telematics imports the GPS location and also meter values based on Equipment Id.

The Trackunit 'SerialNumber' from the 'EquipmentHeader' must be assigned as the Telematic ID in the Rental Information window for relevant non-bulk rental products that are equipped with the Trackunit tracking device.

The AEMP Telematics configuration and credentials can be setup as supplied by Trackunit in the following fields:

    o USERNAME:
    o PASSWORD:
o CLIENT ID: required for IRIS authentication
o CLIENT SECRET: required for IRIS authentication
    o URL: (ie. https://iris.trackunit.com/public/api/aemp/v2/15143/-3/Fleet)
    o EMAIL STATUS TO:
o MATCH TO ASSET SERIAL #: Check this box to identify and match the assets in the import file by the serial number of the rental products as assigned on the Asset Tag for TRK instead of matching the Telematic ID set in the Rental Information window.
Asset Tag that have a "Status" of 'S' for Scrapped or 'D' for Disposed are not matched by the Import AEMP Telematics process.
  • TRK - Trackunit:
The Trackunit Telematics imports the GPS location and also meter values by the "CumulativeOperatingHours/Hour" (ISO 8601).

The Trackunit 'SerialNumber' from the 'EquipmentHeader' must be assigned as the Telematic ID in the Rental Information window for relevant non-bulk rental products that are equipped with the Trackunit tracking device.

The AEMP Telematics configuration and credentials can be setup as supplied by Trackunit in the following fields:

    o USERNAME:
    o PASSWORD:
    o URL: (ie. https://api.trackunit.com/aemp)
    o EMAIL STATUS TO:
o MATCH TO ASSET SERIAL #: Check this box to identify and match the assets in the import file by the serial number of the rental products as assigned on the Asset Tag for TRK instead of matching the Telematic ID set in the Rental Information window.
Asset Tag that have a "Status" of 'S' for Scrapped or 'D' for Disposed are not matched by the Import AEMP Telematics process.

Meter Usage Billing:
The 'Bill Current Meter' process can be activated in the Company Billing Parameters to cause the Cycle Billing to automatically bill up to the current Meter count logged in the Product Meter Information for the Rental Inventory in each billing run.
This process allows updated meter counts captured by 'Telematics' to be automatically included and invoiced in the standard 'Cycle Billing' run.
When this 'Bill Current Meter' feature is activated then the more manual Meter Count Sheets billing processing is disabled.

Contact Texada Services if you would like to integrate with a different Telematic Vendor.

Note: When the Import AEMP Telematics is run manually by SCS staff, an XML report is also generated for debug purposes.

Product Setup & Tracking:
Cellutrak, Samsara and Trackunit are the hardware providers that leverage AEMP standards and supply the tracking devices.
In SRM, the product's corresponding Telematic ID can be set in the Rental Information window for relevant non-bulk rental products that are equipped with the tracking device.

Instead of using the Telematic ID to match the asset on the import data, the two Trackunit vendors provide the option to use the Tag serial numbers of the products as assigned on the Asset Tag to identify and match products.

The Texada Web application also utilizes this GEO location tool.
